Evnex Charger Installation in Perth
ChargingWA supplies and installs Evnex E2 chargers at Perth homes, including ones you've already bought. The E2 charges your car from spare solar, the power your panels make that your home isn't using, and from off-peak power when the sun goes down.

- 7.4kW on a single-phase home, one supply line
- 8m or 5m tethered cable, fixed to the charger
- Overload protection: slows the car when the house is busy
Who Makes Evnex Chargers?
Evnex was founded in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2014. Founder Ed Harvey started it after converting a 1997 Honda Accord to electric while he was at university.
It came to Australia in 2023, and the E2 Core and E2 Plus went on sale here in February 2025.

It Reads Your Power Prices
The Evnex app fetches your tariff from your power company, so you can set the car to charge when power is cheapest.
It Stays Online
The E2 Plus has a 4G mobile data backup, so it keeps its schedule when your Wi-Fi drops out.
It Talks to Your Tesla
In the Evnex app you can check a Tesla's battery level and open its charge port.
An Evnex E2 for Your Perth Home
What is an Evnex charger?
Evnex makes home EV chargers in Christchurch, New Zealand. The E2 Plus and E2 Core both charge at up to 7.4kW on a single-phase home. They charge the car from spare solar first, then blend in grid or home battery power. Both slow or stop charging when the house is using a lot of power.
The E2 suits a single-phase home, which has one supply line from the street. A three-phase home has three, and if yours is one of those, we'll talk you through which charger suits it.
You set charging times in the Evnex app, which can read your electricity tariff, so the car charges from solar or on off-peak rates.
We Supply and Install
We supply the E2 that suits your home and install it. The charger carries its manufacturer's warranty, and our installation comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty.

The Evnex Chargers We Install
Both E2 chargers charge at up to 7.4kW on a single-phase home. The E2 Plus has a longer cable and a mobile data backup for when your Wi-Fi drops out.
A tethered charger has its own cable fixed to it. Overload protection means the charger watches your whole home's power use and slows or stops the car's charge when the house is using a lot.
| Model | Who it suits | Specs |
|---|---|---|
| Evnex E2 Plus | Best when the car parks a long way from the charger, or your Wi-Fi is patchy | 7.4kW single-phase, 8m tethered cable |
| Evnex E2 Core | Best when the car parks close to the charger | 7.4kW, 5m tethered cable |

What an Evnex Install Costs
The cost depends on your switchboard, your power supply and how far the cable runs, so we quote each Evnex install.
Your quote lists the charger, the full install scope and any switchboard work.

These two home installs are both Ocular chargers. In Morley we set the charger up around a Tesla owner's solar, and in Wembley Downs we put it on the house wall with a 10-metre cable to the carport, so there was no trenching.
How an Evnex Uses Your Solar and Tariff
The E2 decides where each charge comes from. Spare solar goes to the car first, and grid or battery power tops it up when the sun drops off.
Most home solar systems are 3 to 6kW and were sized for the house before you had a car. Spare solar helps most when the car is parked at home in the middle of the day, and off-peak power does the rest.
Solar EV charger installation in PerthSpare Solar First
The E2 sends power your panels make, beyond what the house is using, to the car instead of out to the grid.
Off-Peak After Dark
The Evnex app can read your electricity tariff. You set the car to charge when power is cheapest.
Overload Protection
The E2 watches your whole home's power use. If the oven, air conditioner and car all run at once, it slows the car down.
Three-Phase Homes
The E2 is a single-phase charger. Evnex's three-phase charger is the X22, which it sells for workplaces, so we'll talk through the options for a three-phase home.

More on Home Charging
How much does it cost to install an Evnex charger in Perth?
Every Evnex install is quoted, because your switchboard, your supply and the cable run all change the price. Send us photos of the switchboard and the charger spot, and we'll price it properly.
Where are Evnex chargers made?
Evnex designs and builds its chargers in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Which is better, a Zappi or an Evnex?
Both charge from spare solar. The Evnex E2 is a 7.4kW single-phase charger with overload protection built in. The Zappi comes in single-phase and 22kW three-phase versions. We'll recommend the one that suits your supply, your solar and your car.
Is there a three-phase Evnex charger?
The E2 Plus and E2 Core are single-phase chargers. Evnex's three-phase charger is the X22, which Evnex sells for workplaces. For a three-phase home, we'll compare it with the three-phase chargers we install.
Can any electrician install an Evnex charger?
A charger must be installed by a licensed electrician. Ours are licensed, insured WA electricians, and we check your switchboard can carry the charger before we fit it.
