Charging at Home in Geraldton
Geraldton has fast public chargers in the CBD, but a wall charger at home means you start every trip full, whether it's a run to the shops or the drive down to Perth.
Geraldton is on Western Power's network, the same grid as Perth, so the same connection rules apply. On rural blocks outside the city we check the supply before quoting.

EV Charging in Geraldton: What to Know
The WA EV Network's fast chargers opened in Geraldton in April 2023, replacing a temporary 50kW charger.
Fast charging in the CBD
Two 150kW fast chargers sit near the entrance to the Francis Street carpark. They charge up to four cars at once and you pay per use.
Used from day one
More than 70 vehicles charged there in the first two weeks, the City of Greater Geraldton reported in April 2023.
On the coast road north
Northampton, 52 km north, has a 150kW fast charger and a 7kW backup charger. The network runs down the coast to Albany, with sites less than 200 km apart.
Same grid rules as Perth
Western Power permits a 7kW single-phase charger, the kind that runs on a normal home supply, on a standard connection. Western Power requires the main switch, the one that turns off power to the whole house, to be a circuit breaker, a switch that trips off by itself if too much power flows.
Cheap midday power
Synergy's EV Add On plan charges 8.85c per kWh from 9am to 3pm, against 55.33c from 3pm to 9pm. Set the charger to run then and you pay the least for each top up.
A charging stop for visitors
The Mayor said public charging made Geraldton an EV destination. Shops, motels and caravan parks can add their own chargers for visitors.

Geraldton EV Charging FAQs

Do you install EV chargers in Geraldton?
Yes. We work across the Perth metro area and regional WA from Geraldton through to Bunbury and Busselton. Send an enquiry with your address and we'll book a time.
Where can I fast charge in Geraldton?
Two 150kW WA EV Network fast chargers sit near the entrance to the Francis Street carpark in the CBD. They charge up to four vehicles at once, and you pay per use.
Can I drive an EV from Perth to Geraldton?
Yes. Geraldton is 424 km north of Perth, and the WA EV Network has sites along the coast road, including Jurien Bay. North of Geraldton, Northampton has a 150kW fast charger.
Do Western Power's rules apply to my charger in Geraldton?
Yes. Geraldton is on Western Power's network, the same grid as Perth, so a 7kW single-phase charger is allowed on a standard connection and your main switch must be a circuit breaker. On rural blocks outside the city we check the supply before we quote, and if it can't take the load we apply for a bigger connection or fit a charger that limits its draw.
What is the cheapest time to charge at home in Geraldton?
On Synergy's EV Add On and Midday Saver plans, 9am to 3pm is the cheapest time at 8.85c per kWh (rates from 1 July 2026). That window lines up with your solar, so a solar-aware charger keeps costs down even more.
I'm on a rural block outside Geraldton. Can I still get a fast home charger?
We check what supply your block has at the free assessment and tell you what it can take. If the connection can't take a bigger charger, a smart charger that limits its draw from the grid is one way to fit one.
