EV Charger Installation in Busselton

ChargingWA installs EV chargers at homes, holiday stays and venues across the City of Busselton. The City is now leaving public EV charging to private operators, so a business that wants guests to charge needs its own chargers.

Charging at Home and at Your Holiday Stay

For Busselton locals, a wall charger in the garage means the car is full every morning. With the foreshore chargers going, holiday homes, short stays and venues can give EV guests somewhere to charge overnight.

Busselton is on Western Power's network, so the same connection rules and Synergy plans apply as in Perth. We plan every job around them, from homes in Geographe and Vasse to rural blocks out towards Yallingup.

EV Charging in Busselton: What to Know

In April 2026 the City of Busselton said it would leave public EV charging to private operators.

  • Council is stepping back

On 15 April 2026 the City of Busselton Council voted to remove the Busselton Foreshore charger and focus on private sector charging instead.

  • Foreshore chargers going

RAC WA stopped running the Busselton and Dunsborough foreshore chargers in 2025. The Dunsborough charger has already been removed.

  • Private charging is growing

The Mayor pointed to a new bank of fast chargers near West Street, and charging at supermarket car parks, accommodation and tourism venues.

  • Guests charge where they stay

A charger where guests sleep means they don't have to hunt for a public one, and it gives them one more reason to book.

  • Same grid rules as Perth

Western Power permits a 7kW single-phase charger, the kind that runs on a normal home supply, on a standard connection. Western Power requires the main switch, the one that turns off power to the whole house, to be a circuit breaker, a switch that trips off by itself if too much power flows.

  • Cheap midday power

Synergy's EV Add On plan charges 8.85c per kWh from 9am to 3pm, against 55.33c from 3pm to 9pm. Midday Saver has the same 8.85c rate from 9am to 3pm.

Do you install EV chargers in Busselton and Dunsborough?

Yes. We work across the Perth metro area and regional WA from Geraldton through to Bunbury and Busselton, including Dunsborough, Vasse and Yallingup. Send an enquiry with your address and we'll book a time.

Is the Busselton Foreshore EV charger still working?

On 15 April 2026 the City of Busselton Council voted to remove the Busselton Foreshore charger and focus on private sector charging, so check PlugShare before you count on it. The Dunsborough foreshore charger has already been removed.

Where can I fast charge near Busselton?

The City of Busselton points to a new bank of fast chargers near West Street, and charging at supermarket car parks, accommodation and tourism venues. The WA EV Network has a site on Wallcliffe Road in Margaret River, with a 150kW and a 75kW fast charger. Synergy's WA EV Network page points drivers to the Chargefox and PlugShare apps to find each site.

Should my holiday home or short stay have an EV charger?

With the foreshore chargers going, a charger at your property means EV guests don't have to hunt for a public one. Whether charging is free or billed is your choice; tell guests which before they book.

Do Western Power's rules apply to my charger in Busselton?

Yes. Busselton is on Western Power's network, so the Perth connection rules apply, from homes in Geographe and Vasse to rural blocks out towards Yallingup. A 7kW single-phase charger is allowed on a standard connection once the main switch is a circuit breaker. Where a holiday stay or venue needs more than that, we apply for a bigger connection or share the power with load management.

What is the cheapest time to charge at home in Busselton?

On Synergy's EV Add On and Midday Saver plans, 9am to 3pm is the cheapest at 8.85c per kWh (rates from 1 July 2026). That window lines up with your solar, so a solar-aware charger keeps costs down even more.
