EV Charging in Bunbury: What to Know
Bunbury joined the WA EV Network in April 2024, with two fast chargers at Cobblestone Drive.
Cobblestone Drive charger
The WA EV Network site is in the Cobblestone Drive carpark near Blair Street. It has a 150kW fast charger and a 75kW fast charger.
Top up in about 20 minutes
Synergy says the 150kW charger tops up an EV in about 20 minutes. It opened in April 2024 as the network's 30th site.
On the South West coast route
With Bunbury open, Synergy said drivers can travel the coast from Northampton to Albany on WA EV Network fast chargers, with sites less than 200 km apart.
Same grid rules as Perth
Western Power permits a 7kW single-phase charger, the kind that runs on a normal home supply, on a standard connection. Western Power requires the main switch, the one that turns off power to the whole house, to be a circuit breaker, a switch that trips off by itself if too much power flows.
Cheap midday power
Synergy's EV Add On plan charges 8.85c per kWh from 9am to 3pm, against 55.33c from 3pm to 9pm. Midday Saver has the same 8.85c rate from 9am to 3pm.
If your home needs more power
If your home can't take a charger on its current connection, we apply to Western Power for a bigger one or fit a smart charger that limits its draw.

Bunbury EV Charging FAQs

Do you install EV chargers in Bunbury?
Yes. We work across the Perth metro area and regional WA from Geraldton through to Bunbury and Busselton, including Australind, Eaton and Dalyellup. Send an enquiry with your address and we'll book a time.
Where is the public fast charger in Bunbury?
The WA EV Network site is in the Cobblestone Drive carpark near Blair Street. It has a 150kW fast charger, which Synergy says tops up an EV in about 20 minutes, and a 75kW fast charger.
How far is Bunbury from Perth for an EV?
About 175 km by road. The WA EV Network spaces its sites less than 200 km apart, and Synergy says drivers can now travel the coast from Northampton to Albany on its fast chargers.
Do Western Power's rules apply to my charger in Bunbury?
Yes. Bunbury homes, from the city out to Australind, Dalyellup, Gelorup and Dardanup, are on Western Power's network and Synergy plans. You can have a 7kW single-phase charger on a standard connection, as long as your main switch is a circuit breaker. If your connection is too small, we apply to Western Power for a bigger one or fit a smart charger that limits its draw.
What is the cheapest time to charge at home in Bunbury?
On Synergy's EV Add On and Midday Saver plans, 9am to 3pm is the cheapest at 8.85c per kWh (rates from 1 July 2026). The EV Add On plan also has an overnight rate of 19.92c from 11pm to 6am.
Can I charge from my solar panels in Bunbury?
Yes. Your solar makes the most power in the middle of the day, the same 9am to 3pm window when Synergy's EV Add On plan charges 8.85c per kWh from the grid. A solar-aware charger sends your spare solar into the car first, so it works best when the car is home during the day.
